AI has the potential to significantly reduce teacher workloads, allowing educators to focus more on individualized feedback for students. For instance, it can help better identify the needs of all students and provide individualized resources to meet those needs.
Moreover, AI has a great potential in helping overcome digital inequities by supporting personalized education. Digital Promise is working with the U.S. Department of Education to develop and release guidance on how to approach AI, which will include better ways to detect AI in educational settings.
Brizard also compared the evolution of graphing calculators in education to the potential evolution of AI in education. He emphasized the importance of focusing technology integration in schools around supporting teachers in providing personalized learning.
