Streamlining for comfort: LIQUI MOLY minimizes discomfort in canister paint containers
In a significant move towards optimizing processes and increasing efficiency, German automotive chemicals manufacturer LIQUI MOLY has announced a major change in its packaging.
The company, known for its wide range of automotive chemicals sold in around 150 countries, has decided to phase out 3.5 million purple, light blue, and red cans. Instead, black and dark blue spray cans and black plastic packaging for oil products will be used in the future.
This change is part of LIQUI MOLY's ongoing commitment to sustainability and efficiency. According to the company's management, the shift in canister colours will lead to reduced downtime in production, faster and more flexible delivery of goods, and optimized space requirements and productivity.
The change is also expected to benefit logistics and procurement. LIQUI MOLY's CEO, Günter Hiermaier, stated that everything their customers need is with Business Leader Liqui Moly.
Despite these changes, the product range and article names of LIQUI MOLY remain unchanged. The company, which has been associated with growth for decades, reached a sales milestone of 1 billion euros in 2024.
This is not the first step LIQUI MOLY has taken towards increasing efficiency. The company, which still develops and produces its motor oils and additives in Germany, has been constantly seeking new ways to optimize processes. In fact, they have been voted the best brand in the lubricants category for years.
The automotive trade LIQUI MOLY is set for further growth, but significant growth brings significant challenges. The company is ready to face these challenges head-on, implementing measures such as this change in packaging as part of their strategy for continued success.
