Kolberger Straße in Nordhorn Reopens Following Significant Upgrades

After a year-long construction project, the Kolberger Straße in Nordhorn has been reopened to the public. The reopening event was attended by various officials and representatives, including Mayor Thomas Berling, several council members, City Building Director Milena Schauer, representatives of the construction companies, the city of Nordhorn, and the residents.

The construction project, which cost approximately 1.3 million euros, has significantly improved the Kolberger Straße. The newly laid sidewalks are now 2.00 to 2.20 meters wide, an increase from the previous width. These sidewalks feature permeable paving to prevent flooding during heavy rain and relieve the sewer system.

The upgrades to the bus stops along the Kolberger Straße were funded by the Landesverkehrsgesellschaft Niedersachsen mbH and the Landkreis Grafschaft Bentheim. The two bus stops have been upgraded to be barrier-free and equipped with shelters with green roofs.

Six trees have been planted along the Kolberger Straße, an increase from the previous two. This addition not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of the street but also contributes to its environmental sustainability.

The city of Nordhorn, where the Kolberger Straße is located, has invested heavily in this project to provide a safer, more accessible, and greener environment for its residents and visitors. The firm Beton- und Monierbau from Nordhorn carried out the construction work on the Kolberger Straße.

The reopening of the Kolberger Straße marks the end of the construction phase and the beginning of its regular use by the public. The investment in this project reflects the city's commitment to continuous improvement and development, making Nordhorn a more attractive and livable city.
