New Luxury Wellness Temple Opens in Olching, Germany

The construction of the first "Vabali" wellness temple has begun in Olching, a district of Fürstenfeldbruck, Southern Germany. The new facility, spanning 40,000 square meters in the industrial park, boasts a stunning view of the Stürzer pond.

The luxury spa, estimated to cost 60 million euros, is expected to take about two years to construct. Once completed, it will offer a wide range of amenities, including 14 saunas, four steam baths, two pools, four warm water pools, a lake access, a restaurant, bars, massage options, day spa suites, relaxation rooms, and a hotel with about 120 beds.

It is estimated that there will be about 500 visitors per day. The spa will be open for 14 hours a day, but specific opening hours have not been announced yet.

The construction of the spa has been approved by the responsible district office, and the work on the part of the city is now completed. Heated debates preceded the approval of the new zoning plan needed for the realization of the project, as reported by the "SZ".

The street leading to the wellness facility has been named Sabbadini Street, named after Munich merchant Alois Sabbadini who was a castle lord of Schloss Geiselbullach.

The spa will be textile-free, meaning saunas and pools can only be entered naked, but a bathrobe is mandatory in the lounge and restaurant areas and on paths. Children are not the target audience for the spa, as there are no child rates.

Commercial tax revenues from the spa are expected to be in the high six- to seven-figure range. The investor, Theune Spa Management GmbH, has previously established facilities with the same name in Berlin (2014), Düsseldorf (2017), and Hamburg (2022).

Despite the construction in Olching not yet being completed, plans for the next luxury temple are already underway in Vienna. However, the name of the investment company planning the luxury wellness temple in Vienna is not mentioned in the available search results.

The mayor reassured that they do not intend to compete with the popular Therme Erding, citing the significant difference in scale between the two facilities. The mayor sees the wellness construction as a great blessing for the city and the Olching citizens, aiming to create a locally accessible, high-quality wellness facility.

Approximately 500 parking spaces are planned on the site, some with electric charging stations. Green roofs, photovoltaic systems, and carports with PV systems are also planned. Prices for the spa range from 29.50 to 53.50 euros depending on the duration of stay.

Ewald Zachmann of the "For Olching" party criticized that the spa was not being built for the approximately 28,000 Olching residents, but for the greater Munich area, and that it would cause an anticipated higher traffic volume, especially on the A8 and B471. However, the mayor reassured that the experts predicted a rather moderate increase, which was even expected to be lower than that of an industrial area.
