Apple Announces New Products at Launch Event
Apple has made several exciting announcements at its latest launch event, revealing a range of new products set to hit the market soon. The iPhone 17 series is the main focus, but there are also updates to the Apple Watch, AirPods, and more.
The iPhone 17 Series
The iPhone 17 series is expected to feature some significant upgrades. The standard model will boast a 120Hz ProMotion LTPO display and the new A19 processor, while the Pro and Pro Max models will offer a redesigned camera bar, an upgraded 48MP telephoto lens, bigger batteries, and may support reverse wireless charging. The iPhone 17 Air, rumoured to be the slimmest iPhone ever at 5.5mm, is also on the horizon. High-end models could run on the more advanced A19 Pro chip.
The Apple Watch Series 11
The Apple Watch Series 11 is another exciting development. This new model is expected to have new health features, including blood pressure monitoring and a sleep scoring system. It may also support 5G RedCap connectivity and be powered by the new S11 processor. Interestingly, Apple is also reportedly working on a rugged Apple Watch Ultra 3, which will feature satellite-based emergency messaging, blood pressure tracking, and a slimmer design with a brighter, anti-reflective display.
The Third-Generation AirPods Pro
AirPods fans will be thrilled to hear about the upcoming third-generation AirPods Pro. These new earbuds will likely be powered by the new H3 chip and will reportedly offer health-oriented features such as in-ear heart rate monitoring. They will also feature improved Find My integration via a UWB chip and a redesigned, slimmer charging case with a capacitive pairing button. The AirTag 2, an update to Apple's tracker device, is also on the line, bringing improved Ultra Wideband connectivity and stronger anti-stalking safeguards. It's expected to have a longer Precision Finding range as well.
Apple's Smart Home Ecosystem
Lastly, Apple's smart home ecosystem might get a refresh with a new Apple TV 4K, featuring the A18 or A17 Pro chip and Wi-Fi 7 support. Apple may also offer a budget-friendly option, the Watch SE 3, with a design similar to the Series 8 design but in a plastic casing, and larger 41mm and 45mm display options.
