On a rainy day in September 2018, the Inclusive Cycling Tour 2018 kicked off in Nordhorn, Germany. The event, organised by the non-profit organisation ImPuls (Initiative for inclusive cycling), aimed to overcome prejudices and "barriers in the minds" while promoting inclusion and action for people with disabilities.

Mayor Thomas Berling gave the starting signal at the Nordhorn Schweinemarkt, and district administrator Friedrich Kethorn also delivered brief greetings. The tour, which was part of the Inclusive Cycling Tour's nationwide journey this year, was conducted under the motto "Inclusion Needs Action."

Approximately 30 residents of Nordhorn joined the tour, including Karl Grandt and Hans-Peter Durst, who served as inclusion ambassadors for the event. Wolfgang Stober from the city of Nordhorn's disability advisory board and Lambertus Arends from the ADFC assisted in organising the public event.

Despite the persistent heavy rain, the Inclusive Cycling Tour was a success, with the group making their way to Wietmarschen. Thomas Berling even joined the group on their journey. Karl Grandt and Hans-Peter Durst continued their tour towards Lingen and Dörpen after the Inclusive Cycling Tour.

Interested Nordhorn residents, both with and without disabilities, joined the tour, which aimed to draw attention to the needs of people with disabilities. The destination was the Stiftscafé Menke, where a barbecue was held despite the autumn weather. The event was supported by the city of Nordhorn, the district of Grafschaft Bentheim, and numerous other sponsors.

The Inclusive Cycling Tour 2018 is travelling across Germany this year, raising awareness about the needs of people with disabilities and encouraging inclusion and action in communities across the country.
