Supermarket chain Albert Heijn has chosen University for its journey towards carbon neutrality acceleration
Univers' AI Solutions Power Albert Heijn's Sustainability Drive
Univers, the global leader in Artificial Intelligence (AI) for the energy sector, has announced a significant collaboration with Dutch supermarket giant, Albert Heijn. This partnership will see Univers deploy its advanced microgrid and energy management solutions, as part of Albert Heijn's broader strategy to integrate sustainability across its operations and reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
The heart of this collaboration is Univers' EnOS AI and IoT platform, which includes on-site and cloud-based solutions for seamless energy management. The EnOS AI Microgrid, a cloud-based module, will provide centralised control, enabling Albert Heijn to monitor energy performance, prioritise asset use, and make data-driven decisions in real time.
The EnOS Edge Grid Controller, a local brain of the system, will coordinate energy assets like EV chargers, solar installations, heat pumps, and battery energy storage systems (BESS) to prevent grid overload and ensure uninterrupted operations. These solutions are designed to tackle complex energy management challenges in high-demand, sustainability-focused operations.
The rollout of Univers' solutions is already delivering immediate benefits, including reducing reliance on traditional power grids and significantly cutting GHG emissions. Univers, with 280 million devices connected, 788GW of renewables managed, and a global network of 1,200+ customers, is at the forefront of the AI revolution in energy.
Ash Lim, the Vice President of Global Marketing and Communications at Univers, emphasised the importance of this collaboration. "We are thrilled to partner with Albert Heijn in their sustainability journey. Our advanced AI and energy management solutions are designed to help enterprises at every stage of their energy transition journey, and we look forward to supporting Albert Heijn in achieving their ambitious sustainability goals."
