Shocking Sham Scams Target Senior Citizens in Offenbach and Rodgau

A series of shocking scams have been reported in the cities of Offenbach and Rodgau, with senior citizens being targeted and defrauded of several thousand euros and valuable jewelry. The perpetrators, who are believed to be two men posing as police officers, are currently under investigation by the Criminal Police.

In one case, an elderly woman in Rodgau-Dudenhofen handed over cash and jewelry worth several thousand euros to a man. The suspect, described as being around 30 to 40 years old, 1.70 meters tall with a robust build, was wearing a dark long-sleeved jacket, long pants with a possible pattern, and had a cigarette in his hand. The loot from this case was packed in a yellow trash bag, and the suspect is believed to have fled on foot.

Another pensioner in Rodgau was defrauded of a five-digit sum of cash using the same method. No description of the perpetrator is yet available for the Offenbach case, where an elderly woman handed over a significantly higher sum to the scammers in the Staudenstraße. The pick-up person then fled in the direction of the Brandenburger Straße.

The perpetrators used the "accident and bail" scam, claiming that a close relative had caused a serious traffic accident. The Criminal Police are investigating a possible connection between the cases in Offenbach and Rodgau. They are also investigating the three cases in these cities and are seeking clues about the perpetrators.
