Tactical fire drill underway at TRANSGAS's Bruchhausen-Niedereimer fire station, with the fire train in action.
The Fire Department of the City of Arnsberg responded to a significant exercise at TRANSGAS Liquid Gas Transport and Logistics GmbH & Co. KG in Niedereimerfeld on Monday evening.
The incident involved a mishap during refueling, a line breaking, liquid gas escaping, and an employee reported missing. The nearby railway line between Bruchhausen and Niedereimer was temporarily closed as a precaution.
Upon arrival, the incident commander divided the operation into three sections: Rescue and firefighting, Water supply, and Patient care. A team equipped with breathing apparatus and explosion-proof equipment was sent into the danger zone to search for and rescue the missing person.
The Fire Department of the City of Arnsberg deployed several vehicles for the operation. These included an incident command vehicle (ELW), a fire engine (HLF 20), a tank fire engine (TLF 3000), a fire engine (LF 10/6), and a hose reel vehicle (SW 2000). Two ambulances and a medical emergency vehicle were also called in for support.
The missing person was quickly located and handed over to the Patient care section. The refueling process and the escaping gas were stopped using the emergency stop button on the tank vehicles.
