Tanker experiences tractor loss in Buntekuh
On the evening of Wednesday, September 4, 2025, a traffic incident occurred in Lübeck-Buntekuh. A tanker truck, driven by a 40-year-old from Hamburg, lost its trailer as the driver turned left onto Padeluffer Weg.
The incident took place around 21:45, causing a significant disruption in the area. The trailer came to a halt in the middle of an intersection, prompting the immediate response of emergency services.
A crane was quickly deployed to lift the trailer, allowing the tractor unit and trailer to be reassembled. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident.
The tanker truck was escorted by the police to an industrial area, and a specialized company arrived around 01:15 to pump out the diesel from the trailer. Remarkably, no diesel was spilled, posing no environmental risk.
The driver is suspected of violating trailer coupling regulations and was subsequently arrested. An administrative offense procedure was initiated against the driver, but the individual's identity has not been publicly disclosed.
The intersection was cleared around 03:00, and normal traffic resumed. Despite the initial chaos, the quick response of emergency services and the cooperation of the specialized company ensured that the incident was resolved promptly and safely.
