Teacher from the Netherlands is being questioned in Dubai for suspicion of murdering a French citizen.
In the heart of Dubai, a shocking murder case has been making headlines, involving a 30-year-old Dutch private teacher and a French national.
The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, was found dead in his villa at Palm Jumeirah on December 19, 2024, three days after the alleged incident. The villa's lights remained switched off in the days that followed, raising suspicions.
The defendant, a Dutch national, was a private English teacher to the victim. She was arrested from her residence in Sharjah on December 20, 2024. The defendant's husband, who was unaware of his wife teaching the French man, described her as "a very kind and generous person and never an aggressive one."
Forensic examinations suggested that the victim had been struck on the head with a metal figurine. Metallic fragments found at the crime scene and in the victim's skull matched the figurine. The defendant has denied all charges and repeatedly told investigators, "I am not guilty."
Investigators found traces that could connect the woman to the crime scene. A cloth marked with the victim's blood was found at the defendant's mother's residence in Dubai Marina. They also discovered a stain of the victim's blood in her vehicle, a glove discovered at the villa containing her DNA, and a blooded footprint beneath a carpet that matched her.
Investigators also questioned the defendant about searches on her phone related to sedative medicines. However, no direct link to a French victim is indicated in a related case involving a woman named Patricia S., her daughter Cindy, and an alleged hired killer Radi S. reported in Dachau.
The defendant explained that her frequent visits to the villa were due to her teaching English to the victim. On the day of the incident, her last lesson was longer because the victim was preparing to travel. The woman arrived at the victim's villa at around 2pm on December 16 and left at 6:38pm, a longer stay than her previous visits.
The victim's girlfriend suspected the victim had a close relationship with the defendant. The defendant's legal team, Awatif Mohammad Shoqi Advocates & Legal Consultancy, continues to defend her as the investigations by the Dubai Public Prosecution proceed. The defendant continues to deny the charges.
