In the heart of Pforzheim, a significant road closure is set to take place from Thursday, June 8 to Saturday afternoon, June 10, 2023. The closure is due to construction work at the intersection with St.-Georgen-Straße/Hauffstraße.

During this period, St.-Georgen-Steige, a main traffic artery in the city centre, will be closed to through traffic. Detours will be signposted on site from Thursday, and drivers heading into the city centre will be detoured at the Wurmberger Straße/Gesellstraße intersection into Gesellstraße.

Residents of Hauff-, Schelling-, and Keplerstraße will be detoured through their streets during the closure. One of the detours is towards Buckenberg via Keplerstraße. All traffic towards Buckenberg via St.-Georgen-Steige, not already turned into Holzgartenstraße at the Kreuzstraße intersection, will be detoured through the mentioned streets.

The construction work involves working on cables lying under St.-Georgen-Steige. This could potentially lead to challenging traffic situations if drivers exiting at Pforzheim-Nord interchange rely on navigation systems and are directed onto St.-Georgen-Steig towards Pforzheim-Süd interchange.

The local public transportation authority or agency in charge of the area’s bus services will be responsible for detouring bus lines 762 and 763 during the road construction on St.-Georgen-Steige from June 8 to 10, 2023. The stops at the Goldschmiedeschule will not be served during the closure.

Residents up to house number 30 at the intersection of St.-Georgen-Steige/St.-Georgen-Straße/Hauffstraße can drive into St.-Georgen-Steige up to the construction site.

The closure is still due to construction work at the intersection with St.-Georgen-Straße/Hauffstraße, and the construction work is still scheduled to last from Thursday to Saturday afternoon.

We advise all drivers to plan their routes carefully and allow extra time for their journeys during this period.
