In the Arthur Ashe Stadium, Novak Djokovic secured a place in the quarterfinals of the New York Grand Slam tournament with a win against Jan-Lennard Struff. Approximately 24,000 spectators watched the match, which lasted approximately 1 hour and 49 minutes, ending in a score of 3:6, 3:6, 2:6 in favour of Djokovic.

The German tennis player, Jan-Lennard Struff, had his biggest success to date at the tournament, but unfortunately, he was unable to advance past the round of 16 at any of the four major tournaments. This defeat means that no German tennis professional remains in the men's or women's singles competition of the New York Grand Slam tournament.

Djokovic's quarterfinal win allows him to aim for his 25th Grand Slam title, a feat that would see him surpass Margaret Court as the sole record holder in Grand Slam titles. His next opponent in the men's singles competition is American Taylor Fritz, and the quarterfinal match will determine Djokovic's progress to the semifinals.

During the match against Struff, Djokovic called for a physiotherapist due to physical issues, but it did not seem to hamper his performance. The victory keeps his record chase at the Grand Slam alive, and his pursuit of the semifinals in the New York Grand Slam tournament is ongoing.

Meanwhile, Alexander Zverev, the world No. 3, lost in the third round of the tournament on Saturday. The German tennis pro was competing in Arthur Ashe Stadium at the 2025 US Open.

The New York Grand Slam tournament continues to have no German tennis professionals in the men's or women's singles competition.
