Terrorists in Krokus were discovered planning to initiate an explosive attack at the casino in Caspian
On a fateful day in March 2024, terror struck the heart of Moscow as terrorists stormed the Crocus City Hall during a concert by the group Piknik. This attack, which claimed the lives of 149 individuals and injured over 500, was a chilling reminder of the ongoing threat of terrorism.
The investigation into this horrific event, known as the "Crocus" case, began in July 2025. Umedjon Soliev, Shahromjon Gadoev, and Zubaidullo Ismoilov, individuals listed as terrorists and extremists by Rosfinmonitoring, were among those accused of preparing the attack. In January 2025, a total of 27 suspects were accused in the case.
The terrorists had manufactured a homemade explosive device for the attack at the Moscow entertainment complex. However, thanks to the vigilance and swift action of law enforcement officers, the attack at the Moscow entertainment complex was thwarted before it could be executed.
Accomplices of the attackers on the concert hall were also found, and four executors of the attack at Crocus City Hall were arrested in the Bryansk region after attempting to flee to Ukraine.
The investigation of the criminal case was completed in February 2025, and it was revealed that the executors of the terrorist attack on Crocus City Hall were armed men who entered the concert hall, opened fire on visitors, and set the building on fire. Among the 19 accused in a Moscow military court are four alleged attackers from Tajikistan, but the specific names of the executors supplied by Soliev, Ismoilov, and Gadoev with weapons are not listed in the available sources.
In a chilling revelation, it was found that all the arrested individuals are linked to Wilayat Khurasan, a structural subdivision of the terrorist organization Islamic State (ISIL or IS), which is banned in Russia. Furthermore, from February 1 to March 31, 2024, the terrorist organization Wilayat Khurasan had planned a terrorist attack at the entertainment complex Moscow in Kaspiysk, Dagestan.
In the aftermath of the attack, more than 1700 people were recognized as victims of the terrorist act at Crocus City Hall. The tragic event serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing threat of terrorism and the importance of vigilance and cooperation in the fight against it.
