Tesla Introduces a Monthly Windshield Protection Plan for $35, Specifically for the Cybertruck
In a move to provide convenience and peace of mind for Cybertruck owners, Tesla has launched a new subscription service in the United States. The Windshield Protection Plan, which was initially introduced for the S3XY lineup in June, has now been extended to the Cybertruck.
For just $35 per month, Cybertruck owners can safeguard themselves against common repair costs, particularly on vehicles with unique and large windshields like the Cybertruck. The service offers comprehensive coverage, including up to one free windshield replacement every 12 months, unlimited chip or minor crack repairs, and repairs or replacements carried out with OEM glass.
Enrolling in the Windshield Protection Plan is straightforward. Users need to open the Tesla app, tap Upgrades > Service Plans > Windshield Protection, review the terms, and then tap Subscribe. Repairs or replacements within the same year, beyond the included free replacement, will incur a $100 deductible. For additional replacements within the same year, a $100 deductible applies.
The plan ensures proper calibration of Tesla's advanced camera and safety systems, a crucial aspect for the Cybertruck's performance and safety. It also includes premium perks like FSD (Supervised), free lifetime Supercharging, windshield protection, wheel and tire protection, and more, which are now standard for new orders of the Cybertruck.
Tesla's product management and marketing teams, led by Elon Musk, made the decision to introduce the monthly windshield protection offer for the Cybertruck. The company has also launched a separate monthly wheel and tire protection plan, also available for the Cybertruck. Coverage applies only to the front windshield of the Cybertruck.
The Windshield Protection Plan provides Cybertruck owners with the assurance that their vehicle's windshield will be protected, reducing the stress and costs associated with repairs and replacements. With this new offering, Tesla continues to demonstrate its commitment to providing innovative solutions for its customers.
