The Texas Radio Hall of Fame (TRHOF) is accepting applications for its 2025 scholarship program, offering individual grants of $1,000 to Texas college or university students. The deadline for submissions is Sept. 17, and winners will be announced by Sept. 29.
To be eligible, students must be currently enrolled in a Texas college, university, art/trade institute, or community college. They must also be pursuing degrees related to broadcasting, such as communications, broadcasting, broadcast journalism, broadcast production, radio-television-film, or sales and marketing. The associated curriculum must include training connected to radio.
Several of the scholarships are awarded in the name of TRHOF inductees, including Kidd Kraddick, Bill Moffett, Lee Woods, Henry "Pepsi" Pena, Mike Edmonds, and Rudy Trevino. Winners of the scholarship will be determined by a review board working with the scholarship underwriters.
All scholarship recipients will be honoured during a reception on Friday, Oct. 31, 2025, at the Texas Museum of Broadcasting in Kilgore, Texas. No information is provided about the 2025 scholarship signatories of the Texas Radio Hall of Fame or whether they are members of the Hall of Fame.
The Texas Radio Hall of Fame scholarship program is a great opportunity for students pursuing a career in the broadcasting industry. With a deadline of Sept. 17, students are encouraged to apply as soon as possible to increase their chances of being considered.
