This commission, completed after Discovery Zone (aka JJ Weihl) took an online class at The School of Machines and Make Believe called Radical Imperfection in Time-Tracking in 2021, served as a catalyst for the album's narrative.
Quantum Web is a narrative centered around our digital world and our place within it. Discovery Zone addresses the concern about the desensitization to violence in the digital world due to its integration with self-optimization apps, skincare products, and advertising. The album's themes are not new to Discovery Zone. The re-appropriated name, originally belonging to an American chain of child entertainment facilities that went bankrupt in the mid-1990s, has long been used to encapsulate a desire for curiosity and exploration within the confines of 'RealityTM'.
