The Spanish Textile Council (CIE) is spearheading a new project to revamp the image of Spanish Fashion, with a focus on creating a more cohesive and experiential brand. This initiative, which aligns with the study presented last year by Interbrand on the international perception of Spanish fashion, seeks to position Spain as a leader in fashion experiences.

The CIE is reaching out to various sectorial entities and companies, including the Spanish Association of Manufacturers of Children's Products (Asepri) and the Spanish Association of Fashion Designers (Acme), in the coming months to obtain their approval for the project. Major Spanish distribution chains like Inditex, Mango, and Desigual are also being encouraged to join this endeavour.

The new positioning of Spanish Fashion does not mention any specific involvement of these distribution giants, but Eduardo Iniguez, head of projects at Interbrand, has highlighted their importance for the initiative, as they form a significant part of Spain's image abroad. The exact signing date for these major fashion chains' participation in the new look for Spanish fashion remains undisclosed.

The new image of Spanish Fashion, designed by Interbrand, moves away from the traditional combination of red and yellow colours and adopts black and yellow, symbolising Spain's fashion history and vitality. Maria Lara, a consultant at Interbrand, has stated that the Spanish fashion industry has responded positively to this new brand project.

The Spanish fashion industry, largely composed of small companies, stands to benefit greatly from this initiative, according to Maria Lara. Their participation in the project will significantly aid their internationalization. Acme, which was part of the project's launch and has always considered it, is also a target for the CIE's approval for the new project.

The incoming PP government has expressed a desire to promote the Spanish Fashion brand as a key point of its management, alongside the development of food and tourism brands. However, the new image of Spanish Fashion does not specify any direct involvement or support from the new PP government in its promotion.

The lack of promotion of the Spanish Fashion brand in the past has been a hindrance to the industry, according to Maria Lara. The CIE president, Angel Asensio, suggests that this new initiative seems to have continuity in the new PP government.

In conclusion, the new image for Spanish Fashion, with its emphasis on experience and a fresh, vibrant colour palette, presents an exciting opportunity for the industry. With the support of major distribution chains and the backing of the new PP government, this initiative could significantly boost the international profile of Spanish Fashion.
