The Treaty of Aachen has made funds available for bilateral German-French cross-border cooperation. These funds can be found in the same budget title's funding line.

Annual measures are the only ones eligible for funding, with general provisions. However, no specific provisions have been made for the funding form and type.

Expenditures for evaluations are eligible, but there are no geographical restrictions for funding. No special restrictions apply for who can be funded, and applications must be submitted at least eight weeks before the planned start of the project.

The coalition agreement promotes cooperation in border areas, but it excludes bilateral German-French cross-border cooperation. The agreement mentions regional councils and experimental clauses as examples of instruments, but there is no funding guideline or concept with a specified validity period.

Three studies from 2022 have been conducted to determine the implementation possibilities of certain instruments mentioned in the coalition agreement. It is worth noting that there is no funding program for the promotion of measures for the implementation of the concept of border scouts, as stated in the coalition agreement.

Certain measures, such as bilateral measures with France and the implementation of the concept of "border scouts", are excluded from funding. For those interested in applying, the contact for application is [email protected].

It's important to remember that while there are funds available, the promotion does not include measures for the implementation of the concept of border scouts. Some programs, like public transport investment funding in Brandenburg, are valid until December 31, 2030, and some hydrogen funding programs are limited until December 31, 2026 or 2028.
