The museums' extended late-night event has commenced

The Long Night of Museums in Berlin is currently underway, with thousands of visitors expected to attend the event that runs until the small hours of the morning. This year's theme is love, and the city's museums are offering a variety of exhibitions and experiences to celebrate.

One of the most intriguing attractions is the Heartbreak Clinic at the Medical Historical Museum of the Charité. Here, visitors can explore the physical and psychological aspects of heartbreak, with experts answering questions about what happens in the body and brain during this emotional experience, and why it hurts so much.

Elsewhere in the event, there are exhibitions focusing on famous works of art, poems, and a critical examination of love. At the Humboldt Forum, visitors can even sing karaoke to love songs.

A total of 75 museums are involved in the event, with many exhibitions remaining open until 2:00 AM. With one ticket, visitors can explore all the houses and use the shuttle buses to travel between them.

Besides the major exhibition houses on Museum Island, many smaller museums throughout the city are participating. The organiser, Kulturprojekte Berlin, reported that it is already quite lively on Museum Island, with many lines and other locations well-visited.

The warm summer evening is also benefiting the event, with visitors enjoying the extended hours and the opportunity to explore the city's cultural offerings under the stars. The Long Night of Museums in Berlin is a must-see for anyone interested in art, history, and the human experience.
