The true enchantment emerges when you tweak its settings, making each transition feel like an unearthed secret: The FM synth Doppler, a desktop model, boasts exceptional adjustability.

Introducing The Doppler: A Revolutionary Desktop Synthesizer

The Doppler, a new desktop synthesizer from Artium Instruments, is now available to order following a successful Kickstarter campaign. This innovative device, housed in a compact, stompbox-like chassis, promises to deliver a unique and immersive synth experience.

The Doppler's design philosophy emphasizes simplicity and discoverability, making it easy for both beginners and seasoned musicians to explore its features. At its core, The Doppler is a two-operator, 8-voice FM instrument. It features a synth engine that uses two sine wave generators in a carrier-modulator relationship, providing a rich and versatile sound palette.

One of The Doppler's standout features is its connectivity. It boasts a pair of TRS inputs and a pair of TRS outputs, with the left output also functioning as a stereo headphone output. The Doppler also has two USB ports—one for power and one to act as a MIDI host input. This versatile connectivity allows for seamless integration with other music equipment.

The Doppler's modulator is designed to be 'ultra-tweakable', with subtle adjustments leading to significant changes in sound. The modulator's frequency is quantised, ensuring that the modulation remains musical and harmonious. The Doppler's single ADSR envelope for modulation can be switched to affect either just the carrier signal, or both the carrier output and modulation amount. Moreover, The Doppler allows the modulator to modulate both the frequency and phase of the carrier individually or simultaneously.

In addition to its synth capabilities, The Doppler also offers delay and reverb effects. These effects can process both the synth's own sounds and external audio, making it possible to use The Doppler with a variety of sources. The delay and reverb effects can be used with external audio patched into the rear panel input, expanding The Doppler's versatility even further.

The Doppler also includes a pink noise generator for additional grit, adding texture and depth to your sounds. Furthermore, The Doppler's delay and reverb effects can be set to affect the Mod Trail control, altering the attack of the modulator signal, providing yet another layer of sonic manipulation.

The Doppler retails for $397.10. For more information about The Doppler, visit the Artium Instruments website. With its innovative design, versatile features, and affordable price, The Doppler is set to make a significant impact in the world of synthesizers.
