Thief apprehended during vineyard break-in, bicycle taken from farming estate
Break-ins and Arrests in Taunusstein
Two separate incidents of break-ins and thefts have been reported in Taunusstein, a town in Germany, within the past few days.
On Wednesday, 16th July, 2025, a black mountain bike worth around 1,000 euros was stolen from a courtyard in Taunusstein-Neuhof, Orchideenstraße, at 17:00 hours. The thieves entered the property by forcing open a courtyard gate. The police are currently investigating this incident and ask anyone with information to contact them at the Police Headquarters Westhessen - Wiesbaden.
The following day, on Thursday, 17th July, 2025, at approximately 05:20 hours, two unknown individuals broke into a wine stand in Taunusstein-Wehen, Am Marktplatz. However, the thieves found nothing and fled the scene empty-handed. Witnesses to this incident are asked to contact the Bad Schwalbach police station under the phone number (06124) 7078-0.
In a related development, the police took a shop thief into custody after he resisted arrest in Eltville, Roßpfad, on the same day at around 20:33 hours. The thief had previously been reminded of an existing ban from a shopping market on the Roßpfad. During the arrest, the thief punched a shop employee in the stomach and damaged a radio device, as well as resisting the officers, resulting in injuries to one of them.
The thief was also found to be connected to the burglary at the wine stall on the market square in Taunusstein-Wehen on the same day. The thief was ordered a blood test, and further inquiries can be made at the Police Headquarters Westhessen - Wiesbaden.
The thief was approximately 1.80 meters tall, had dark hair, and was wearing a light-colored pants and a black top with a chest emblem. The police are still searching for the accomplice.
