A 23-year-old man caused a stir at a wine festival in Bremen's old town on the night of Wednesday to Thursday. The incident, which resulted in criminal proceedings for aggravated theft, began when the suspect stole a box full of wine bottles.

The theft was initially noticed by a 19-year-old security guard. The man, who was reportedly in a bad mood and looking for a fight, made his way to the wine box and began to take bottles. Despite the security guard's attempt to stop him, the man grabbed another single wine bottle and threatened the guard.

In an unusual turn of events, the suspect then drank half of a wine bottle from the stolen box before fleeing the scene. His escape was not without damage, as he sliced open two tents at the Domshof during his getaway.

The police were quick to respond, apprehending the man nearby. The value of the stolen wine bottles has not been disclosed in the article. The 23-year-old has not been publicly identified.

The wine festival, held on the Domshof, was undoubtedly shaken by the incident. However, it is hoped that such an occurrence will not deter festival-goers from enjoying the event in the future.
