In the heart of Baden-Württemberg, the city of Singen is set to receive a significant boost for its integration efforts. The city has been selected to receive funding through the state's "Integration on the ground - Strengthening municipal structures" scheme, with the project "Ansprechbar – Coordination Together" being one of the recipients.

The project, which will receive €71,550, aims to establish a coordination office for migrant associations and communities. This office is designed to foster networking, sustainable participation, and public visibility of migrant organizations, thereby promoting social cohesion and strengthening the democratic foundation at the local level. The maximum funding per project under this scheme is up to €80,000.

The funding focus this year is on projects that improve digital participation for people with a migration background, overcoming digital barriers, and ensuring easier access to technologies and services. The project in Singen is expected to help strengthen digital competencies and promote self-determination and participation in social life in an increasingly digital world.

Secure access to digital technologies is seen as a basic prerequisite for social participation. Other funded projects across the state will also focus on similar goals, aiming to bridge the digital divide and ensure equal opportunities for all.

The selection of these projects was advised by a diversely composed, independent expert panel. A total of 34 promising integration projects have been chosen from numerous applications, with the state government committing approximately €1.8 million over three years to these projects.

For those interested in learning more about the projects or the application process, the contact details for the Ministry of Social Affairs, Health and Integration's Press Office and Citizen's Representative, as well as the Citizen's Representative's contact details, are available online. The Press Office's contact details include an email and an external link to their website. Last year, funding was provided for the establishment of structures for honorary office guides and measures for culturally sensitive design of existing offers. This year, the focus remains on projects that promote encounter and exchange in a diverse society, such as strengthening intercultural dialogue and breaking down prejudices.

As the city of Singen gears up to establish its coordination office, it joins other municipalities and free carriers across the state in their mission to foster integration and promote social cohesion. With the support of the state government, these projects are set to make a significant impact in the lives of many, ensuring a more inclusive and connected society.
