Thousands Gather in Apolda to Witness Picasso and Cocteau Exhibition

The art house, Kunsthaus Apolda, is set to present a new exhibition titled "Paris - Metropolis of Entertainment" starting from September 7th. This exciting exhibition, curated by Dr. Johannes Ramharter, delves into the city of Paris as a centre of entertainment, with a focus on iconic establishments like the "Chat Noir" and "Moulin Rouge".

The exhibition features a captivating collection of poster art from around 1900, showcasing the shared interests and influences between Pablo Picasso and Jean Cocteau, two artists who first met in July 1915. Picasso, renowned as a painter, and Cocteau, associated with poetry and film, have been brought together in this exhibition, giving Cocteau, better known as a filmmaker and writer, a new artistic dimension.

The exhibition highlights the similarities and differences between these two artistic giants through prints and drawings. Claudia Söllner, director of the Apolda Avantgarde art association, expressed her delight at showcasing Cocteau as a drawer, stating it was a "lucky catch".

Guests have been flocking to the exhibition since it opened on May 25th, with around 9,000 visitors so far. The exhibition has drawn visitors from various countries, including China, Italy, and Canada, reflecting the global appeal of these two iconic artists.

Don't miss this opportunity to immerse yourself in the vibrant world of Parisian entertainment as depicted in poster art. The "Paris - Metropolis of Entertainment" exhibition promises to be an unforgettable experience for art enthusiasts and casual visitors alike.
