Three collisions occur within the same location, involving vehicles hitting walls.
In a shocking turn of events, four separate incidents involving drunk drivers occurred across the Southern and West Palatinate regions on Saturday.
The day started with a sobering incident in Klingenmünster, Southern Palatinate district, where a driver, after losing control, crashed into a house wall. The police confiscated the driver's license after a breathalyzer test revealed a reading of 1.5 per mille, exceeding the legal limit.
Later in the day, another driver in the West Palatinate town of Pirmasens was found to be drunk. This driver, behind the wheel of a van, hit two bollards and subsequently crashed into a house wall.
In a more severe incident in Erpolzheim, Bad Dürkheim district, a 23-year-old driver lost control of his car, veering off the road and crashing into a house. The driver was seriously injured in the incident. Police suspect that the driver had been drinking alcohol.
Police in both districts also suspect that the drivers were speeding. Two of the drivers had their licenses confiscated on the same day.
In total, four incidents in the region on the same day involved drunk drivers. However, it's worth noting that on Sunday, there are no reports in the given search results of a driver involved in one of these accidents who did not have a driver's license. A separate incident occurred on a previous night, where a 22-year-old man without a license fled from police during a pursuit spanning Niedersachsen to Nordrhein-Westfalen, ending in Hille, Ostwestfalen.
These incidents serve as a stark reminder of the dangers of drunk driving and the importance of responsible behavior behind the wheel. The authorities urge drivers to always drive sober and within the speed limit to ensure the safety of themselves and others on the road.
