Three individuals sustain injuries in a road mishap on Theater Street, according to police reports.
Accident at Borngasse/Theaterstraße Intersection in Aachen
A traffic accident involving multiple cyclists and a 72-year-old driver occurred at the intersection of Borngasse and Theaterstraße in Aachen on September 2, 2025, at approximately 5:25 PM.
According to the police report, a 60-year-old cyclist was stopped behind the driver at a red light when the collision occurred. The driver, due to a presumed medical emergency, lost control of the vehicle and collided with the cyclist, causing him to fall. The cyclist sustained minor injuries.
In a subsequent collision, the car continued into the intersection and collided with a second 49-year-old cyclist. The cyclist was thrown onto the hood of the car and sustained severe injuries, including shoulder injuries and abrasions. The cyclist, a resident of Aachen, was taken to the hospital along with the driver.
The accident investigation was immediately initiated at the scene, and a screen was set up for the purpose. The intersection was closed to vehicle traffic for approximately two hours.
