Three NHL Legends and a Pioneering Women's Hockey Player to be Inducted into the US Hockey Hall of Fame
The United States Hockey Hall of Fame has announced its Class of 2025, and it's a star-studded lineup. Among the inductees are three NHL veterans – Joe Pavelski, Scott Gomez, and Zach Parise – along with Tara Mounsey, a trailblazing figure in women's hockey.
Joe Pavelski, Scott Gomez, and Zach Parise played overlapping seasons in the NHL for multiple decades, making their mark on the sport. All three represented the U.S. at the Olympics, with Pavelski and Parise competing in the 2010 and 2014 Winter Games, respectively. Gomez, however, was part of the 2006 team.
Scott Gomez, a first-generation Latino player in the NHL, is a two-time Stanley Cup winner, having lifted the trophy with New Jersey in 2000 and 2003. He also made history as the first player from Alaska to make it to the NHL.
Joe Pavelski, a prolific goal-scorer, had a distinguished career with teams like the San Jose Sharks and Dallas Stars. Zach Parise, known for his tenacity and leadership, spent most of his career with the Minnesota Wild and the New Jersey Devils.
Tara Mounsey, on the other hand, made her mark in women's hockey. She was a member of the U.S. women's hockey team that won the first gold medal at the Games in 1998. Mounsey was also part of the team that reached the final in 2002.
Bruce Bennett, a renowned sports photographer, will also be inducted. Over his 50 years in the business, he has photographed nearly 6,000 games in the NHL and internationally.
The United States Hockey Hall of Fame class of 2025 will be enshrined at a ceremony in St. Paul, Minnesota. This prestigious event will honour these outstanding individuals for their contributions to the sport of hockey in the United States.
