Tigers pitcher Tarik Skubal limits White Sox to just two hits over seven innings, enabling Detroit to end Chicago's winning run with a convincing 6-0 victory.

The Detroit Tigers handed the Chicago White Sox their first loss in seven games, thanks to a stellar pitching performance that saw three Tigers relievers striking out nine batters in their four innings.

At the heart of the Tigers' victory was starting pitcher Tarik Skubal, who pitched seven scoreless innings and recorded 12 starts with six or more scoreless innings, surpassing Denny McLain's franchise record of 10 such starts. Skubal's impressive outing against the White Sox saw him allowing just two singles and two walks, while striking out six batters.

The White Sox's woes at the plate were further compounded in the fourth inning when Riley Greene, Andy Ibañez, Martin Pérez, and Gleyber Torres were involved in a play that resulted in the Tigers scoring five runs. Torres added to the Tigers' tally with a three-run homer in the same inning.

The only Chicago batter to reach base besides Chase Meidroth was Bryan Ramos. The White Sox starter, Pérez, struggled on the mound, giving up six runs, five hits, and three walks in four innings.

The series finale will see Detroit RHP Charlie Morton (9-10, 4.51 ERA) face RHP Davis Martin (6-9, 4.06) for the White Sox. Morton will be aiming to build on his team's impressive win, while Martin will be looking to help the White Sox bounce back.

The series began on a high note for the Tigers, with Jahmai Jones hitting a home run to lead off the bottom of the first inning in the opening game. The Tigers will be hoping to carry this momentum into the final game and secure a series victory.
