Time for the finale stream of 'Dexter: Resurrection' Season 1. When does it air?
The much-anticipated finale of Dexter: Resurrection, the sequel series to the original Dexter and follow-up Dexter: New Blood, is nearly upon us. This thrilling season, which began on July 11, is set to conclude with a bang as Dexter Morgan finds himself in a dire situation.
In the final episode of the season, Dexter (played by Michael C. Hall) is trapped in a vault, locked inside by antagonist Leon Prater (Peter Dinklage). The vault houses the body of Dexter's long-time friend and colleague, Angel Batista, whom Leon has just brutally killed. Surrounded by the New York Police Department, Dexter must find a way to escape this perilous predicament.
The series largely takes place in New York City after Dexter leaves upstate New York, and it features an impressive cast. Alongside Dexter, we see the return of James Remar as Dexter's late father, Harry, and Dominic Fumusa as Detective Melvin Oliva. New additions to the cast include Krysten Ritter as Mia, Uma Thurman as Charley, Neil Patrick Harris as Lowell, Emilia Suárez as Elsa Rivera, Eric Stonestreet as Al, and Kadia Saraf as Detective Claudette Wallace.
Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine stars as Blessing Kamara, a character who has been instrumental in Dexter's journey this season. Harrison, Dexter's son, is played by Jack Alcott, reprising his role from Dexter: New Blood as the adult version of the character.
The official summary for Dexter: Resurrection reads, "Dexter: Resurrection takes place weeks after Dexter Morgan takes a bullet to the chest from his own son, as he awakens from a coma to find Harrison gone without a trace."
For those with cable subscriptions, the season finale will air on Showtime on Sunday at 8 p.m. ET/PT. However, for streaming viewers, the finale will become available on Paramount+ Premium at 3 a.m. ET/12:01 PT on Friday.
As the season comes to a close, Dexter sets out for New York City, determined to find Harrison and make things right. Whether this marks the end of Dexter's story or the beginning of a new chapter remains to be seen, as there has not yet been a formal announcement of whether Dexter: Resurrection will return for a second season.
