Today's college football matchup between Syracuse and Tennessee can be streamed live
The Syracuse Orange football team is set to begin its 2025 season with a challenging match against the No. 24 Tennessee Volunteers. The game, scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 30, will commence at 12 p.m. ET at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.
The Volunteers will be 13.5-point favourites to beat Syracuse, according to FanDuel odds. This is a significant challenge for the Orange, who are looking to build on their impressive 2024 season under coach Fran Brown.
Last year, Syracuse enjoyed a successful campaign, winning 10 games - the first time since 2018 and the third time this century. The team will be missing four key players from their 2024 offensive line-up, including LeQuint Allen, Jackson Meeks, Trebor Pena, and Oronde Gadsden II, who accounted for a combined 3,417 receiving yards.
However, Syracuse has bolstered its receiving corps with the addition of Johntay Cook, a transfer from Texas. Cook, who caught 16 passes for 273 yards and two touchdowns in his two seasons with the Longhorns, will be eager to make an impact in his new team.
Despite Cook's off-season arrests, coach Fran Brown has expressed confidence in his character. "Johntay is a talented player, and I believe in his potential," Brown said. "We're focused on helping him grow both on and off the field."
Meanwhile, the Volunteers will be led by Joey Aguilar at quarterback, following Nico Iamaleava's transfer to UCLA. Tennessee will be looking to build on their 2024 success, where they finished with a 9-4 record.
The game will be aired on ABC, and while DirecTV will stream the channel during the game (as per an advertisement), no new information about streaming services was provided.
