Top 10 NBA stars of all time, numbered from 100 to 91
The Top 100 NBA Players of All Time: A Look at the Rankings
The NBA has released its list of the 100 greatest players of all time, and our website is excited to present this historic list over the next 10 weekdays. The list, which was announced three years ago, has been re-evaluated using a new metric called E-Rank.
The E-Rank metric considers 96 factors for ranking NBA players, but it does not take into account style points, propaganda campaigns, shoe deals, social media clout, hypotheticals, or nostalgia. Instead, it focuses on career numbers, peak performance, league awards, and winning.
The top 100 players are ranked based on their E-Rank scores, which range from the lowest at 271.85 (Chris Webber at number 100) to the highest at 300.25 (Grant Hill at number 91).
Jerry Lucas, a member of the 75th Anniversary team, is ranked 94th with a score of 292.45. Tiny Archibald, also a member of the 75th Anniversary team, is ranked 96th with a score of 276.95.
Amar'e Stoudemire is ranked 93rd with a score of 293.7 (Horace Grant is right behind him at number 92 with a score of 293.7). Al Horford is ranked 97th with a score of 276.95, and Kyle Lowry is ranked 98th with a score of 275.2. Marc Gasol is ranked 99th with a score of 272.95.
Unfortunately, seven players who were originally included in the 75th Anniversary team have been removed from the Top 100 list. These players include Pete Maravich, Dave DeBusschere, Billy Cunningham (twice), Dave Bing, Earl Monroe, Nate Thurmond, and Lenny Wilkens.
Some players who just missed the cut for the Top 100 list include Tim Hardaway, Bernard King, Spencer Haywood, Blake Griffin, LaMarcus Aldridge, Bob Lanier, Klay Thompson, Kevin Johnson, and Shawn Marion.
Vince Carter is ranked 95th with a score of 287.315. Chris Webber, who is ranked at number 100, had a score of 271.85.
The E-Rank metric evaluates players based on 7 factors, but the specific details of these factors have not been disclosed to the public. Regardless, the list is sure to spark debate and discussion among basketball fans worldwide. Be sure to check back each weekday as we continue to reveal the Top 100 NBA players of all time.
