Toronto football team, Toronto Argonauts, lists Missouri quarterback, Beau Pribula, for potential contract negotiations
The Toronto Argonauts are shaking up their roster ahead of their upcoming game against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, as they have added Missouri quarterback Beau Pribula to their exclusive negotiation list.
Pribula, a redshirt junior, is entering a new chapter in his football career after transferring from Penn State this offseason. Over three seasons with the Nittany Lions, Pribula showcased his versatility, throwing for 424 yards, nine touchdowns, and one interception, while also rushing for 571 yards and 10 scores.
Pribula's debut start with the Missouri Tigers was impressive, as he completed 23-of-28 passes for 283 yards and two touchdowns against Central Arkansas. He also added 65 yards and two touchdowns on the ground in the game.
The negotiation list is a tool used by CFL teams to claim the rights to up to 45 players on a first-come, first-served basis. Players on the list have never played in the CFL before, and being added to the list does not necessarily mean that the player has expressed interest in the league.
However, players can force their removal from the list if the team does not provide them with a minimum contract offer at their request. Pribula's addition to the Argonauts' negotiation list does not guarantee that he will play for the team, but it does indicate that the Argonauts are interested in his services.
The Argonauts (3-8) will visit the Tiger-Cats (6-4) at Hamilton Stadium on Monday, September 1, with kickoff slated for 2:30 p.m. EDT. The game will be an important one for both teams, as they continue to battle for playoff positioning in the CFL East Division.
It remains to be seen how Pribula's addition to the Argonauts' roster will impact their performance against the Tiger-Cats, but one thing is for certain - the Argonauts are showing that they are not afraid to make bold moves in the final stretch of the season.
