Trabzonspor appears to be the likely destination for goalkeeper Andre Onana from United.
Manchester United's goalkeeper Andre Onana could be heading for a loan move to Trabzonspor, according to reports. The Turkish transfer window is still open, and negotiations for the loan are reportedly close to completion.
Onana, who joined United from Inter Milan in 2023 for an initial fee of €51m, has faced pressure due to a string of errors since his arrival. His first game of the 2023-2024 season saw a humiliating Carabao Cup exit for Manchester United at Grimsby, and more issues arose under manager Ruben Amorim during the season.
Onana missed the pre-season due to a hamstring injury, and he has not played in any Premier League game this season. The goalkeeper ended his first season with Manchester United as an FA Cup winner, but his performances have been under scrutiny.
United signed Senne Lammens from Antwerp for €21m plus add-ons, and Lammens has joined the squad after the deadline day. With Onana's potential departure, Lammens could be set to take his place as the first-choice goalkeeper.
Altay Bayindir, previously a backup to Onana, has been linked with a return to Turkey. Bayindir's departure could pave the way for Onana's loan move to Trabzonspor.
Manchester United's next match is away to Manchester City after the international break. It remains to be seen if Onana will be part of the squad, or if he will complete a move to Trabzonspor before then.
