Traffic Accident in Weyhe: Incident Resulting in Injuries and Substantial Vehicle Damage - Involving Intoxicated Drivers in Twistrings
In the small town of Diepholz, Germany, a significant traffic accident occurred on Monday morning. The incident took place on Rieder Straße, involving a car, a truck, and another car.
According to reports, a 36-year-old car driver, traveling towards Bremen, was responsible for the accident. The driver, whose vehicle collided with an oncoming truck and a following car, injured three people. The injured parties received immediate treatment from the rescue service.
The car of the driver at fault, the truck, and a high-value car were no longer roadworthy and had to be towed away. The damages caused by the accident are estimated to exceed 100,000 euros.
In a separate incident, the Diepholz police station apprehended two drunk drivers on Monday evening. The first, a 60-year-old driver, was found under the influence of alcohol with a test result of 2 promille. His vehicle had no visible license plates. The second driver, a 62-year-old, was stopped by the police in the Topheide at around 7:00 PM and was found to be under the influence of alcohol with a test result of 1.7 promille.
Both drivers had to give a blood sample and were prohibited from continuing their journey. Moreover, the vehicle driven by the 60-year-old driver was found to be uninsured. Both drivers face a criminal procedure.
It's important to note that two drunk drivers were also apprehended in Twistringen, but this information is not related to the traffic accident in Diepholz.
Both drivers responsible for the accident on Rieder Straße risk losing their driver's license. The 60-year-old driver, who was under the influence of alcohol, may face additional penalties for driving an uninsured vehicle.
