Two individuals operating motor vehicles encountered a predicament in Erlensee, overseen by the South Hessian Police Presidency.

Traffic Halt: Accident Causes Road Shutdown

On Thursday evening, a significant incident occurred on state road 3193 near Erlensee, involving two vehicles.

According to reports, the Mercedes driver, aged 34, lost control of his black AMG shortly after the exit to the A66. The collision involved a Mercedes and a Ford, resulting in both vehicles spinning multiple times across the entire road and hitting the median and side guardrails.

The Mercedes ended up on the shoulder, perpendicular to the road, while the Ford landed on the left lane, facing the wrong direction. Witnesses reported that the Mercedes driver was traveling at high speed prior to the accident.

Sadly, the 46-year-old Ford driver sustained severe injuries, while the 34-year-old Mercedes driver sustained minor injuries. Both drivers were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.

The road towards Erlensee was fully closed for two hours due to the accident and the subsequent cleanup efforts.

The identity of the 34-year-old Mercedes driver involved in the accident has not been publicly disclosed. It's important to note that the damages from the collision are estimated to be over 55,000 euros, as both vehicles were totaled.
