Traffic Limitations Implemented for Events on August 30
On August 30th, music enthusiasts in Chemnitz are in for a treat as concerts by DIKKA and Wincent Weiss will take place at enviaM, located at Chemnitztalstraße 13. Here's what you need to know to make your concert experience smooth and hassle-free.
Traffic Restrictions and Detours
Due to the Power Open Air concert, there will be temporary traffic adjustments in the city. From August 29th, 6 am to September 1st, 12 pm, the Dammweg/Chemnitztalstraße corner will be completely closed, and Chemnitztalstraße will only be accessible outbound between Glösaer Straße and Dammweg, with inbound traffic restricted. Public transport outbound will operate normally, but bus stops "Dammweg" on line 22 will be temporarily relocated.
During the concerts, a mobile traffic light will allow public transport to use the route in the uphill direction. A detour via Blankenburgstraße will be signposted for individual traffic heading towards the city center. Additionally, Draisdorfer Straße, Glücksberg, In der Delle, Irrbornweg, and Zu den Pappeln will be closed to through traffic. A temporary 30 km/h speed limit has been implemented on the Blankenauer Straße and on the Chemnitztalstraße between Christian-Wehner-Straße and Dammweg.
Parking and Shuttle Services
Concert-goers are primarily advised to use the special shuttle services provided by the CVAG for arrival. Please note the timetables when using P&R parking lots and public transport, as no shuttle services are provided from these parking lots.
For those preferring to drive, the parking lot at the Chemnitz Fair will serve as a parking space for vehicles on the event day. However, please note that no parking spaces are available near the event venue.
Safety Measures
Access for residents and emergency services will be guaranteed at all times during the concerts. Additional bike parking spaces will be available during the concerts. Drivers are asked to exercise caution and patience, especially during peak hours, due to the changed route during the concerts.
