Traffic Mishaps Caused by Distractions Result in License Suspensions

In the heart of Hagen, Germany, a car accident occurred at the intersection of Delsterner Straße and Lütkehofstraße on Tuesday. According to the Hagen Police, a 28-year-old from Dortmund was driving a Daimler on Lütkehofstraße and turned suddenly, colliding with a Mercedes driven by a 27-year-old. Both vehicles sustained significant damage and had to be towed away.

The 27-year-old driver, who was on Delsterner Straße heading towards Dahl, sustained minor injuries but did not seek immediate medical attention. The 28-year-old from Dortmund, however, showed signs of drug use during the accident investigation. His pupils were constricted, and he agreed to a voluntary drug test. The saliva test came back positive.

A check in the police information systems revealed that the man had previously been involved in cases of driving under the influence of narcotics. Due to an open warrant for the revocation of his driver's license, the officers seized his license. He was later interrogated by the Hagen Police on October 1st on Delsterner Street for suspected drug use and had to provide a blood sample after the positive saliva test.

The Hagen Police are actively investigating the incident and can be contacted for further inquiries. The contact number for the Hagen Police Press Office is 02331 986 15 15. The Press Office can also be reached via email at [email protected].
