In Rodgau, on Autobahn 3, the South East Hesse Police Headquarters recently carried out an operation during the peak travel season. The focus of this operation was on motorhomes, vehicle combinations, and trucks, with a total of 21 such vehicles inspected between 9:00 AM and 2:45 PM.

The aim of the operation was to identify possible overloading among travelers, as it is a safety concern on heavily frequented motorways. The officers checked the permissible total weight, proper cargo securing, and the technical equipment of the vehicles.

Four motorhomes were found to be slightly overloaded, and the drivers had to redistribute cargo on-site before being allowed to continue. One driver, however, is facing a criminal proceeding for suspected driving without a license and had to post a security deposit of 500 euros.

Many drivers showed understanding for the operation and took the opportunity to inform themselves about technical regulations and safe loading. The South East Hesse Police Headquarters encourages this proactive approach, as it contributes to the overall safety on the motorways.
