In a heartbreaking incident that occurred on Friday night, a fatal crash took place in the area of Montcalm Street and Joslyn Avenue, Pontiac, Michigan. The crash involved two vehicles: a 2022 Honda Civic and a 2025 Chevrolet Malibu.

According to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office, the Honda Civic, driven by a 21-year-old Pontiac resident, crossed into oncoming traffic on Joslyn Road and left the roadway. The vehicle struck multiple signs and poles before colliding with the Chevrolet Malibu.

The crash resulted in a tragic outcome. A 37-year-old mother, who was a passenger in the Honda Civic, died at the scene. Two of her children, aged 6 and 4, also died from injuries sustained in the crash. A 9-year-old child from the same family was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The Honda driver was also taken to the hospital with serious injuries but is now in stable condition, as of Saturday afternoon.

Sheriff Michael Bouchard expressed his sympathies to the family affected by the crash. He stated that the family is seeking answers regarding the tragic incident.

Multiple 911 callers reported a vehicle had gone airborne and a child had possibly been ejected. The sheriff's office has not yet determined the full circumstances of the incident, but a factor of speed is suspected.

The Oakland County Sheriff's Office is investigating the crash and is urging anyone with information about the incident to reach out to them. As of now, no information has been released about the driver of the Chevrolet Malibu.
