Tragic Vacation: Father Under Arrest, Mother Detained for Resisting After Alcohol Incident

In a dramatic turn of events in the German town of Lünen on Saturday evening, August 30th, a 44-year-old man from Dortmund found himself in hot water after an alleged driving under the influence (DUI) incident.

The incident unfolded on Bebelstraße, at the intersection with Derner Straße, where a VW Touran was stopped by the local police for erratic driving. Upon approaching the vehicle, officers noticed a strong smell of alcohol on the 44-year-old man, who was identified as the driver.

A voluntary breath test was attempted, but the man did not blow into the tube long enough, prompting the officers to order a blood test. The man became increasingly aggressive, resisted the officers, and even kicked the seats of the patrol car. As a result, he was handcuffed and placed in the vehicle.

Inside the car were not only the 44-year-old man, but also his 48-year-old partner, their teenage daughter, and another couple. The partner of the 44-year-old man, who stood in front of the patrol car, attempting to prevent it from taking her husband to the Lünen police station, also faced charges of resisting arrest, assaulting an officer, and attempted escape.

The other three occupants of the VW were allowed to continue their journey after the police procedures were completed. The partner of the 44-year-old man, however, refused to comply with a dispersal order and was taken into custody.

Case No. 0755 was assigned to the incident, but the name of the police officer who handled the case in Dortmund on that day is not currently available in the search results. The police had to write up numerous reports due to the incident.

A doctor took a blood sample from the 44-year-old man at the police station, and the results are expected to confirm or refute the initial suspicion of DUI. The partner of the 44-year-old man continued to shout and film the officers throughout the incident.

This is a developing story, and further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
