In the heart of Lower Saxony, a surprising incident unfolded on the railway tracks near the Aller Bridge in Wolfsburg. A 17-year-old Romanian national found himself in an unexpected predicament, when he stepped onto the tracks, causing a stir during the busiest time for train traffic.
The teenager was walking towards Wolfsburg station, unaware of the danger lurking ahead. An ICE train approaching from the east spotted him and, fortunately, applied the emergency brake, averting a potential disaster.
As the train came to a halt, local police officers sprang into action. They quickly located the teenager on the tracks and removed him from the danger zone, ensuring his safety.
The police authority investigating the incident was the Niedersachsen (Lower Saxony) police. In light of the incident, a criminal investigation for endangering train traffic has been initiated.
Despite the tense situation, it's reassuring to note that no one was injured in the incident. However, the incident did cause disruption, with the tracks between Vorsfelde and Wolfsburg being closed for approximately 45 minutes.
