Train service from Hamburg to Munich disrupted, stranding 300 passengers

In the Harburg district, an ICE train en route from Hamburg to Munich experienced a technical malfunction, causing it to come to a halt. The train, carrying approximately 300 passengers, stopped near Stelle station around midday.

Deutsche Bahn, the railway company responsible for operating the ICE trains, promptly evacuated the stranded train and arranged for a replacement. After approximately two and a half hours, the passengers were able to continue their journey on the substitute train.

The nature of the technical issue that caused the stranding was not disclosed by Deutsche Bahn. However, they assured that no injuries were reported during the incident.

The track did not need to be closed due to the stranding of the ICE train, allowing normal operations to continue. The stranded ICE train has since resumed its journey towards Munich.

This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of maintaining the high-speed trains' technical condition to ensure a smooth and safe journey for passengers. Deutsche Bahn has stated they are investigating the cause of the technical issue to prevent similar incidents in the future.
