The Bayraktar TB3 drone, a significant advancement in Turkey's unmanned aerial vehicle technology, has officially entered the Land Forces Command inventory. This development was confirmed by Rear Admiral Zeki Akturk, the Ministry of National Defense press and public relations advisor, during a weekly press briefing at the Land Forces Training and Doctrine Command (EDOK).

Developed by the Turkish defense company Baykar, the Bayraktar TB3 drone is a versatile unmanned combat aerial vehicle (UCAV) capable of conducting reconnaissance, surveillance, intelligence, and assault missions across multiple domains. It boasts foldable wings, enabling seamless operations from naval vessels, and is designed for operations from short-runway amphibious assault ships.

The Bayraktar TB3 supports both line-of-sight and beyond-line-of-sight communications for remote operations, and can carry up to six munitions, including laser-guided, INS/GPS-guided, infrared-guided, and air-to-air munitions. Its fully autonomous takeoff and landing capabilities add to its operational flexibility.

The addition of the Bayraktar TB3 to the Land Forces Command inventory marks another milestone in Turkey's expanding domestic defense capabilities. The Land Forces Command has also added ILTER J-350 jamming systems to its inventory, further enhancing its defense and security capacity with domestic and national defense industry products.

The fourth T-70 helicopter has also entered the Air Force Command's inventory following inspection and acceptance activities under the General Purpose Helicopter project. The Land Forces Command has completed inspection and acceptance activities for various quantities of Bayraktar TB-3 UCAV, ensuring their integration into the command's operations.

The announcement of the Bayraktar TB3's integration into the Land Forces Command was made by Rear Admiral Zeki Akturk, emphasising the importance of domestic defence industry products in bolstering Turkey's defence capabilities. This development underscores Turkey's commitment to self-reliance in defence technology and its ongoing efforts to modernise and strengthen its military capabilities.
