Twenty-one nominations received by La Presse
The Quebec Professional Journalists' Federation (FPJQ) has unveiled the finalists for the prestigious Judith-Jasmin Prize. The awards, which recognise excellence in journalism, will be presented next November at the FPJQ Congress in Rivière-du-Loup.
La Presse Shines with Nine Finalists
Montreal-based newspaper La Presse is leading the pack with nine finalists across seven different categories. Notable nominations include Stephanie Grammond, who is up for awards in both the Opinion and Business and Economy categories. Her editorial on the future of Canada and her report on the management of public finances in Sweden have caught the attention of the judges.
In the Sports category, Ariane Lacoursiere and Olivier Jean are nominated for their report on the balanced practice of sport in Norway, while Eric Martel is recognised for his report on the football program of a school in Lachine. Photographer Dominick Gravel receives three nominations in the Arts and Culture, Portrait, and Sports categories.
Isabelle Hachey is nominated in the Feature category for her dossier on the fall of the dictatorship in Syria, and Isabelle Morin is nominated in the Arts and Culture category for her report on the last ancestral mills of Quebec. Marie-Eve Fournier is nominated in the Business and Economy category for her column "It's breaking everywhere."
