Twenty years of Haarlem Dichtlijn: Poets from Haarlem to appear in Osnabrück, showcasing two decades of local verse.
On August 3rd, at 11:00 AM, the Piesberger Community Center in Osnabrück will host a unique literary event titled "Word Meets Sound - Osnabrück and Haarlem Read Together with Jazz Accompaniment". This event is part of the Piesberg Base Camp and marks the 20th anniversary of the "Haarlemse Dichtlijn", a group of poets from Haarlem renowned for their literary prowess.
The literary exchange, titled "Poetry Knows No Borders - Haarlem Meets Osnabrück", will bring together writers from both cities. Jolies Heij, Marten Janse, Xander Jongejan, and Monika Joras from Haarlem and the surrounding area, along with Merle Junkereit, Dorothee Krämer, Svenja Niepel, and Otti Schollek from Osnabrück and the surrounding area, will read texts created in the joint writing workshop "Schreib.Geschützt" funded by the VGH Foundation.
The event promises an engaging blend of literature and music, with a jazz quartet from the Institute for Music providing musical support. The Jazz Connection Quartet, consisting of Nikolas Weikamp on drums, Milan Gjakonovski on bass, Jonas Hoffmann de Ramos on guitar, and Jill Gräfe on trumpet, will accompany the readers, adding an extra layer of emotion to the reading experience.
Admission to the event is free, and no reservation is necessary. The event will take place in the garden of the Piesberger Community Center, Glückaufstraße 1.
