"Two-day 'Expert Career Fair' offers glimpses into various professions"
The town of Pforzheim is set to host the inaugural BerufeMeile Pforzheim Enzkreis event on May 12 and 13. This career festival, unlike a traditional job fair or training exhibition, aims to provide insights and information about various career sectors to young people and adults.
The event will kick off at the Alfons-Kern School on Deimlingstraße on Friday at 9 a.m., with exhibitor stands in the city center opening at 10 a.m. The construction site of the Schlossberghöfe behind the town hall will also be opened on Friday, offering a unique opportunity to gain insights into construction careers.
Throughout the festival, various actors will present career sectors, with the Pforzheim-Enzkreis Craftsmen's Association and employer associations from the gastronomy and social sectors providing information. The metal and electrical industry will be represented by the Südwestmetall association. The Alfons-Kern School, as a vocational school, will also be present to share information about careers.
For those interested in non-binding career information, the event will offer a wealth of opportunities. Alongside the exhibitor stands, there will be a stage featuring further information and presentations of careers.
Foreign individuals can benefit from translations at a central information booth by volunteer language mediators. Translations will be available in nine different languages, including English, Arabic, and Ukrainian.
The festival will take place around Deimlingstraße and the market square. On Friday, the Alfons-Kern School will close at 4 p.m., while information booths will remain open until 5 p.m. On Saturday, both the school and the information booths in the city center will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Mayor Peter Boch and Enzkreis District Administrator Bastian Rosenau are the patrons of the BerufeMeile, underscoring its importance to the community. This event promises to be a valuable resource for anyone seeking to explore career opportunities in Pforzheim and the surrounding area.
