Two females sustain injuries in a collision
On Thursday evening, a significant traffic incident occurred on Liburer Weg towards Libur, just before the Uckendorf exit in Niederkassel. According to reports from news aktuell and Uhl, a rear-end collision took place between a Mercedes and a Toyota Auris.
The incident began when the driver of the Mercedes, a 33-year-old woman, intended to turn left into a property. She slowed down but had to stop due to oncoming traffic. Unfortunately, the driver of the Toyota Auris, a 34-year-old woman, failed to stop in time and collided with the stationary Mercedes.
Both drivers, residents of Niederkassel, were slightly injured and taken to nearby hospitals by ambulance. The cars involved in the collision were severely damaged and had to be towed away, resulting in an estimated total damage of around 35,000 euros.
The Rhein-Sieg District Police Headquarters has secured traces at the scene, taken statements from those involved and witnesses, and is currently investigating the incident. The Toyota driver will have to answer for suspected reckless bodily harm in a traffic accident.
For further questions, the Press Office of the Rhein-Sieg District Police Headquarters can be contacted at [email protected] or by phone at 02241/541-2222.
We hope for a speedy recovery for both drivers and urge all road users to exercise caution and respect for each other while driving.
