Two men were stabbed in Montgomery County following a shooting incident involving BB guns according to police reports.
In the quiet neighbourhood of Germantown, Maryland, an unsettling incident unfolded in the early hours of Sunday morning. The 19500 block of Amaranth Drive became the scene of a confrontation involving a group of young people armed with BB guns.
According to the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD), they responded to reports of a shooting at the scene, around 2:34 a.m. However, it was later confirmed that no BB gun-related injuries were reported among the group that was targeted.
The incident, still under investigation, took a more serious turn when one man was stabbed in the back, and another man suffered a slash wound to the arm. Both victims were promptly taken to hospitals and are expected to survive.
The MCPD, along with the Maryland State Police helicopter units, MCPD 1st District Officers, and Maryland-National Capital Park Police, established a perimeter around the scene to ensure the safety of the community and aid in the investigation.
Despite an extensive search following the incident, approximately 15 people were detained, but no arrests have been made as of yet. Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact Crime Solvers of Montgomery County at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477) or submit a tip online at www.crimesolversmcmd.org. The identities of the victims have not been disclosed by the authorities, and no further details about the suspects or potential motives have been released. The investigation into the incident remains active, and the MCPD urges anyone with information to come forward to help bring those responsible to justice.
This incident is not the first of its kind in Montgomery County. The perpetrators of a stabbing incident that occurred in July 2021, where two people were stabbed with knives, have yet to be arrested. The community is reminded to prioritise safety and report any suspicious activities to the authorities.
