Two quick blinks from a driver occurred in a short span of time as per POL-OE's report.
In the small town of Wenden, the Circles Police Authority Olpe has been actively enforcing speed limits, particularly on the school way. On September 2, the traffic service controlled speed at the "Peter-Dassis-Ring" using an ESO measuring device.
During the measurement, a total of 54 speeding offenses were detected between 9 o'clock and 13 o'clock. One of the most notable cases involved a Mercedes driver with a foreign license plate. The vehicle was first measured driving at 63 km/h in a 30 km/h zone, resulting in a speeding of 30 km/h. A few minutes later, the Mercedes was measured again, this time driving 83 km/h, resulting in a speeding of 50 km/h.
According to the fine catalog, a speeding of 30 km/h attracts a fine of 180 euros and a point in the driving license register. For a speeding of 50 km/h, the fine catalog provides for a fine of 400 euros, a driving ban of one month, and two points in "Flensburg."
If the Mercedes driver had been measured driving 1 km more for either speeding offense, a higher fine and longer driving ban would have been threatened. Fortunately, the driver was issued warnings for excessive speeding on both occasions.
The head of the traffic police directorate at the Kreispolizei Olpe, Thorsten Scheen, commented on the speed controls in the news. This incident serves as a reminder for all drivers to adhere to speed limits, especially in areas where children are present. Speeding not only puts lives at risk but also results in hefty fines and potential driving bans. Let's drive safely and responsibly.
